Here at Midway, our children's ministry is called "Kannapolis Crossing." We recently remodeled our entire children's area to provide a space where our kids can be creative, innovative and learn all about Jesus.

Kannapolis Crossing is a journey through the city of Kannapolis and the places our little city loves so much. You start off in the train station and journey through the Gem Theatre, Village Park, Cannon Mills and Taylor's Garden Supply.

We use the Orange Curriculum to offer an experience that goes beyond the walls of the church and into the conversations at home.

"Orange" is the concept of bringing together the light of the church (yellow) and the love of the home (red). When these two are combined, the combination is not only beautiful, but effective.

Sunday mornings can be a little bit hectic, so here's a run down of what Sundays look like for our kids:

9 AM: Children's Choir starts in the Gem Theatre (downstairs in the Sanctuary Building)

9:15: The children remain in the Gem Theatre for Large Group. During large group, the kids hear a story from one of our wonderful story tellers. The stories relate to a theme for the month, such as compassion or patience. This month, we'll be talking about perseverance.

9:30 AM: Following storytelling, the kids transition to their small groups. The groups are separated by PreK, K-2 and 3-5. During their time with their small group leaders (Sunday School teachers), they dig deeper into the story to help them understand the lesson better through games, crafts, trivia and other activities.

10:00 AM: Small groups dismiss and your kids can be picked up from their small group classroom. Feel free to grab a cup of coffee or other refreshments from the back lobby area (parking lot side).

10:30 AM: Worship begins. If you have a child in preschool or younger, feel free to take them to the nursery where they can stay with one of our nursery workers.
